Highway 401 Westbound Pavement and Bridge Rehabilitation from Bayview Avenue to Allen Road

MTO Contract 2015-2035

Project Background

 

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has awarded a construction contract to Brennan Paving and Construction Ltd. to perform rehabilitation of Highway 401 Westbound from Warden Avenue to Allen Road.  The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate and extend the service life of the infrastructure.

 

Work on this contract includes two parts:

 

Part A - Westbound Collector from Bayview Avenue to Allen Road

  • Mainline pavement rehabilitation, concrete base repairs, and resurfacing
  • Rehabilitation of the following ramps:
    • Bayview Avenue E-N/S
    • Bathurst Street E-N/S
    • Yonge Street N-W
    • Yonge Street E-N/S
    • Yonge Street S-W
    • Bayview Avenue S-W
    • Bayview Aveue N-W
  • Replacement of existing steel noise barrier
  • Realignment of Bayview E-N/S ramp terminal and widening for an additional turn lane
  • Rehabilitation of the Bayview Avenue Overpass
  • Rehabilitaton of the Wilson Street Overpass
  • Rehabilitation of the Bathurst Street Overpass

 

Part B - Westbound Express from Warden Avenue to the Don Valley Parkway

  • Mainline pavement rehabilitation, concrete base repairs, and resurfacing

Project Summary

This project includes the rehabilitation of pavement and bridges on Highway 401 Westbound. This projects is defined in two parts Part A - Westbound Collector from Bayview Avenue to Allen Road and Part B - Westbound Express from Warden Avenue to the Don Valley Parkway

Project Time Frame

Part A of this project will commence in June 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

 

Part B will commence in 2017 and will be completed by the end of June 2018.
